The poster represents Oswald de Andrade’s Antropofagia (Anthropophagy) concept, which was one of the foundations of Brazilian Modernism, and metaphorically means a cultural cannibalism. Brazilian Modernism was a movement for a national culture, essentially Brazilian, in opposition to the Europeanized academicism of Art.
